What Makes Your Heart Sing?: Me on Sundays..

It's Sunday..
It's been a good day so far..
My Heart is Singing..

What Makes Your Heart Sing??

This post title will probably make a friend of mine smile because i borrowed it from his Facebook page What Makes Your Heart Sing, you should go like that page cause i say so..*tongue out*..lol..  Actually you should go like it because..it is utterly inspirational. Bruce Cryer has been doing a wonderful job of inspiring lazy people like myself who put in little effort (by comparison to his own efforts, i'm not doing much...lol) to do stuff that ought to be done. Isn't it nice to have friends who can inspire you no matter how down you get?
Thank you Bruce and hope you don't mind me borrowing your page name for my new post. It's the first thing that popped in my head when i was contemplating writing this post.

Oya, back to the business at hand!

I was asking what makes your heart sing. Are you moved by beautiful things? Inspirational? Love? Happiness and all that mushy good stuff? Are you moved to do things that make people happy and uplift their souls? Are you moved to impact lives around you in a positive way or do you feel it's none of your business and prefer only to think of yourself?...... Or are you one of several millions who wake up and the first thought in your head is how to hurt your fellow man? How to hurt him or cause him pain? Or worst, take his life? Do you allow selfishness to shape your every action or hatred or intolerance of your fellow man simply because he does not see or live his life the same way you do?
It is my personal opinion that pre-occupation with self is the major cause of most of the world's troubles today. My own opinion, not yours. You may choose to think otherwise or have other things in mind as the causes but few people these days truly think of others before doing anything, most think of themselves first ( i do it to sometimes, don't bother denying you don't..we all do. Self before Others)

Humans by nature desire beauty. Even the most violent people in the history of the world have been known to have cherished some particular areas of their lives, never mind that they were busy inflicting pains on others. Those cherished parts of them were kept like the rarest of treasures. Makes me wonder if those were the only things that kept them human while the rest of them was immersed in savagery. Hardly a day goes by now we don't hear of some tragedy somewhere (more recently Boston Marathon Bombing, Boko Haram trouble in my own country, car accidents claiming lives, wars and conflicts..to mention a few. God rest all souls). Most people now wake up wondering if it's their turn to go and give a huge sigh of relief once the day is done and they are still intact. When did things get so bad that we now have no sense of pity or remorse for our fellow men? Or we deliberately ignore people who need help simply because we can?

Now we all have hope of peace in the next life, that  is the belief of every human practicing any religion on this earth, sweet peace, sweet relief when all is said and done and we are all gone. I however must ask this question; how can you hope to enjoy peace in the afterlife when you are busy causing chaos in this life?
I would love to hear the replies of people who go round killing and maiming and thinking this guarantees them an automatic pass to "paradise". What paradise do you expect to go when you shed even a drop of blood as precious in the sight of its Creator as gold simply because someone, somewhere, you call a leader or master tells you to do so? Why  not listen to the little voice inside you that tells you right from wrong? Don't let anyone brainwash you or think for you, they will not be responsible or accountable to God for your actions, you alone will.. Think about it!!

As for me, I love beautiful things. I love seeing beauty and my soul is always calm in the presence of beautiful people or places or things. Let us all search deep within ourselves. As much as we are capable of doing bad, so also are we capable of doing good and impacting lives positively. Let's act on the positive as much as we can and believe me, the negative will reduce more and more. No doubt we all have things to worry about but in the midst of it all, let's all remember why we are here, not to serve ourselves alone but to carry along  others (..for what shall it profit a wrap of pounded yam to be eaten alone when it can be accompanied by egusi soup and orisirisi on top..* mouth twitching*.. i refuse to laugh..)

Try and make one person happy in a day, It's a target i set for myself and so far, works just fine for me. Don't need to make large numbers smile at the same time, one happy person a day does it for me and I suggest you try it. Best weapon to achieve this? S.M.I.L.E!!.. Yep, a simple smile starts things for you. Easy to give, easy to maintain and it doesn't cost a dime (world's cheapest commodity along with the air you breathe) . As for those of you who persist in being grumpy all the time, keep frowning and you look like a cow as you grow older, it ages you faster than you think, great way to scare your children and grandchildren sometime in the future but don't listen to me ooo, what do i know?...

Seek beauty and beauty will find you. Seek peace, joy, love or any good thing and you can be sure you yourself will be found by them all. In the most unexpected places and situations, sneaking up and catching you unawares. It is never deliberate and you don't need elaborate preparations before you can do something beautiful that can touch a soul somewhere. Sometimes, all someone needs is a loving touch or a warm smile or a welcoming hug. Little things done over time all add up to something really big and you'll be all the richer in spirit for it. Not to mention all the joy and goodwill you enjoy from it. Isn't that far better than being hated or reviled?

Alright off I go, hope you enjoyed this. Gonna enjoy lunch.I don't share my amala with anybody, oo ba ranju ju beyen lo..hahahahaa!
Have a beautiful sunday and be kind to anyone you meet, this is guaranteed to make your heart sing..trust me.

Cheers!!
